The Megabass PopMax has been upgraded from the well-respected PopX by the addition of a larger body and a redesigned gill-system, based on a hand-carved original by industry expert Yuki Ito. Its unique gill system features six water-intakes and a water chamber, four of which create a splashing/chugging action on the water’s surface while two channel water below the lure. The system also prevents the lure from skipping and helps maintain its position on the water. When paused, water flows out of the chamber, causing the PopMax to raise its head and attract nearby bass with enticing bubbles and surface disturbance.

The Megabass PopMax can be effectively used as both a conventional popper and a dynamic roll-walking bait when gently manipulated with a rod-tip action. For optimal performance, target rocky or riprap banks, grass beds, or shallow points early in the morning.
